IMDB.com and how it conquered the world
May. 28th, 2006 12:17 pmNeat story in the New York Times today about the IMDB.
All the standard stuff (formed in '90 as a place to centralize movie credits), but there's an interesting bit buried in the middle.
Apparently, Amazon.comhas created its own search engine, a9.com. It looks interesting, to say the least. Interestingly organized. You can even search game reviews, although I don't know how good their database is for that, as nothing came up in that category when I searched Bug Eyed Monsters.
Interesting, though. I'll have to look closer to see what it offers over Google.
