Wow. The stuff you learn on the Internet.

Apparently Jeff Conaway, who played Zack on B5 was on a vh1 reality show called Celebrity Fit Club. He left the show midway through because apparently he had to go to drug rehab.

There's more details here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Celebrity_Fit_Club#Season_three_-_2006
but I've clipped some of the relevant bits below.

Quote:

In a flashback, Jeff showed up at Fit Camp on Day 15 in a bad condition. Dr. Ian Smith showed up to check on Jeff's condition in the hopes that he's well enough to compete. Jeff can't talk straight. Jeff can't walk straight. He can't even walk on his heels, which he blames on flat feet. Ian asks why Jeff's like this. Jeff blames it on the two Benadryl he took. Ian told Jeff he knows that two Benadryl alone do not produce Jeff's stupor. Back at the weigh-in, Jeff apologizes half-heartedly for taking two Benadryl and for being Jeff Conaway. Ian asks about Jeff's medications, recalling Jeff's supposed Benadryl
blitz. Jeff says he also takes muscle relaxers. He claims to have been clean and sober for fifteen of the last twenty years.

On another episode, Jeff melts down, saying "You can take your ****in' show and shove it up your ****in' ass." He later apologizes again, this time to Kelly. He once again blames the Benadryl for his loopiness. Chastity comes out and tells Jeff that the group thinks
he's on drugs. Jeff says he's only on prescriptions. Chas lets Jeff know that she was taking only prescriptions when she became addicted to them. She was in constant pain, too, but she came out of it, and encourages Jeff to do the same.

After his temper tantrum in the last episode, Dr. Linda Papadopoulis, scheduled a one-on-one with Jeff the following evening. However, he never showed up. Instead, he was rushed to the ER after a near-fatal night of painkillers and alcohol. After his release, Jeff explains that it was his birthday and he celebrated by taking too many benzoids
while he was drunk. He remembers waking up surrounded by paramedics. Later that day, he makes a visit to addiction specialist and Loveline co-host Dr. Drew Pinsky. Dr. Drew learns that Jeff is on one to three Norco, which is equivalent to six Vicodin, and six two-mg Xanax a day. As Dr. Drew says, he needs to stay in a hospital to detox from that
much Xanax.

Spicy stuff, eh?

Spicy stuff, eh?

Ennh. I mean, bit actor on genre tv show has drug problems. Scintillating stuff, not so much, but once Doctor Drew enters the story, all spiciness just evaporates. Doctor Drew is the most bland man in America. He's so bland he makes Adam Carolla (or however you spell it) seem funny.

Now that's an impressive feat, but it's also details just how non-spicy Doctor Drew is. He once walked into a Taco Bell store, and they closed the store that day, never to open again, b/c all the spiciness was gone.

Remember The Spice Girls? No, me neither, and Doctor Drew is to blame.

Doctor Drew's least favourite sci fi book? Dune, of course. Need I say any more?

I'm willing to bet that most shows with such a large cast are going to have a large number of unhappy stories in their cast members' lives. Why? Because there's lots of tragedies in life, and a lot of them are brought on by our choices, and many people in the Hollywood/acting scene aren't always known for making the best choices...

Yeah, but really they're only killing off those who get caught. :P

Yes, Visions is why I had to read this post. Although I think it required a Cynical Nihilist to point out to me what terrible shape he was in. I tend to give people the benefit of my naivete.

I didn't mean you! Unless your other name is Lexa Reiss. Sorry for the unintentional slur.

I'm not surprised in the least, and I'm sure neither is your wife.

Uh....I realize this is quite late and all and you probably know this already, but you've got the wrong actor. The guy who was on Celebrity Fit Club and had to leave halfway through was Jeff Conway who was on the hit show Taxi quite awhile ago, not Jeff Conaway...who, from reading this, apparently was on B5. Different guy altogether.

Take 2...I just realized you had it right and this is indeed the same guy. My apologies! I never realized the guy from Taxi was later on Babylon 5.

Yeah, I do too!

Here's something I can get right, though - I think! Conaway is going to be on yet another VH1 reality show. This one follows "celebrities" as they go through rehab and Dr. Drew is involved. I guess if Conaway gets off the drugs and gains weight, he can then go back on Celebrity Fit Club...

What in the world are you talking about??? It was Daniel Baldwin that was on Celebrity Fit Club not Jeff Conaway! Man you should research or know what your talking about before you post bull crap.
