That's Collectible Throwing Game, son.

I got a starter at Baycon last month, and it's very interesting looking. I was wondering if anyone had played it. I haven't had a chance to play yet, unfortunately.

It's not nearly as lame as the base concept would seem; the gameplay is very solid, and the base starters are playable. It reminds me of Sack Armies, in certain ways, including army construction.

I demoed it at GTS last year, and I've got two starter sets that I've been meaning to break out. I think we'll play it Friday night at PaulCon, after we've played The Extraordinary Adventures of Baron Munchausen and no one is capable of driving home.

I agree that that game design seems much better than the description would indicate. Sadly, I think it's going to require a substantial word of mouth campaign for it to capture any real market share, and with the industry the way it is, if it doesn't launch hot, it's dead in the water (as happened with Hecatomb).

Do you remeber when it was released? I recall announcements, but not when I first saw it on the shelves.

Hi everybody,

Clout was released at GenCon last year. The first expansion, Defenders of Undersea (new Merfolk faction) was released in April. The next one, Redbeard's Revenge (Pirates) will be out in August.

If you folks break out the starter and play, I'd love to hear what you think (good or bad). "Not as lame as the concept would seem" is a pretty common first impression. At least you didn't call them POGs! =-)
