Okay, so last week Ms. Clue told Walt to behave or he'd be put back (IIRC) into his room. When Walt appeared to Shannon, he always appeared wet.

Could Walt have been put in some kind of sensory deprivation tank? Perhaps to unlock his mental abilities?

Ooh, interesting idea. Also, one of the rumors going around (I never verified it myself) was that what Walt was saying was 'Don't push the button, the button is bad.', only backwards. Maybe the Others were trying to get the flight survivors not to push the button. That's why Henry told Locke he didn't push the button and nothing happened. He didn't, personally want to be around when the button wasn't pushed, but he wanted them to stop pushing the button sometime after he left.
