Well, Cynra & I finally took in M:i:III (and,sweet Elvis, is THAT an unweildy abbreviation) and found it to be enjoyable.

Good that it came back around to the beginning, that was nice, although foreshadowing was fairly clumsy in the film. "Ethan can read lips. That will be important at some point." And it ended up being less coherent than the first one; by the end, I wasn't sure WHO was betraying who. Or Whom. Or whatever. I just wanted it to be over.

It was well paced, at least, for an action film. No lagging to be had. A few medium or long shots might have been appreciated. And where was that bridge they were on during the attack? It looked like Florida, but I don't think you can drive from Florida to DC in ten minutes. Can you?

Feh. Enjoyable, in any case.

I, for one, am glad we saw it yesterday at Rainbow Cinemas and only paid around $4.00 a ticket.

I am amazed at the camera work that made Tom Cruise look like he was of normal height.

I'm confused. To me, the following two statements don't add up:

1) I just wanted it to be over.

2) Enjoyable, in any case.

Yeah, but isn't that the whole thing about the M:I movies? That's like going to a Prisoner movie and wanting the "What is really going on here" thing to end. ;)

Yeah, I was hoping to see more neat face-masks and infiltration, less labyrinthine plotiness.

The face mask was kinda cool, though. And Hoffman, well, that guy's gonna get an Oscar someday, you believe me!

M:i:III is marketroid speak. Marketroids have no grasp of, and total disregard for, the English language, which is why you have Coors advertised as the "coldest-tasting" beer. Call it MI3 like a normal human being.

The bridge is located at the Chesapeake Bay, by the way; having lived in the area I recognized it instantly.

Of course, you still can't get to DC from it in ten minutes. And I doubt we saw Ethan Hunt hit the Beltway.
