A family on a tea plantation was tried for witchcraft and beheaded when they were found guilty. Apparently, 200 people in this province have been killed in the past five years for "for allegedly practicing witchcraft."

Swell.

I read this today too, on BBC's news page; six persons have been arrested in the latest example of vigelante justice.

Mind you, I know persons (and patients of mine) in Hamilton who actively believe in such things as the Evil Eye (malocchio) and have employed so-called witches and faith healers in attempts to alleviate such afflictions.

Luckily the folk-cures for this superstitious malady does not involve decapitation.
