Since Friday, the bathroom has been in various stages of reconstruction. I haven't had a full shower in almost a week, instead squatting down in a bath of alternatively scalding hot or lukewarm water with a washcloth and a bar of Ivory soap.

It's beginning to wear on me.

Tonight, I got to hold up the ladder while my wife did some painting on the staircase. I asked "how bad luck is it to be standing under a ladder while a black cat crosses your path?" Because that's exactly what was happening. I should just break a mirror to finish it off.

Oh, yeah, we moved in last summer; but the wife wanted new fixtures & tiles. I think she's been watching too many home renovation shows on The Learning Channel.

It'll look pretty, which I suppose is good. I just want to clean myself standing up.
