I've been soldiering on for the past few days at work under a rather horrid cold. Tea, lozenges, lots of water, some cold meds. Nothing blunted the infectious offensive.

Last night, after a good D&D game (whatever the program the GM was using should be MANDATORY) I got home and couldn't get to sleep due to my inability to breathe. I woke up every few minutes gasping for air.

I took two Advil Extra Strength Cold & Sinus (which I never do anymore; I rarely take more than one of a pill, and definitely not an ES variety). I still managed only a few hours rest.

Man, I should have picked up some NyQuil. Sweet, sweet, coma inducing NyQuil. So, today I get to be home while our handyman rips out the bathroom walls. Joy.

I'll just boot up the xbox for XML2 and watch those Daily Show episodes the PVR has recorded.

Your GM uses a program? Of what variety? Do tell! Computer / Gaming Geeks want to know!

Yes - more about the program!

I have been tinkering with something akin to that to run off my laptop, based on Excel. Or, more accurately, I was tinkering with something like until Chicken Ball Thief conned me into putting Civ III back on my computer, then Civ IV came out and it's all been down hill from there...

Uh. Is the reason you can't breathe nasal, or is it in your lungs? (If the latter, get your ass to a doctor, dude.)

Ah, NyQuil. The stuffy head, sneezing, wake up three days later on the kitchen floor with the spoon still in your mouth, medicine. *loves*

Be well, man. *healing hugs*

Woo-hoo! Guilt free! My cold wasn't nasal (come to think of it, it must have been bacterial...), so it's not the one I dealt with and could've passed on over Jesusmas.

In the words of a wise man (OK, maybe not so wise) "NyQuil, NyQuil, NyQuil! We love you, you giant fucking Q!"

NyQuil. My friend and loved one, particularly this past year. I particularly love that feeling when, about 40 minutes after taking it, it suddenly feels like you've been hit with a tranq, and there's the feeling like someone is lowering a stone slab on you. Breathing takes so much more energy, moving is a real challenge, then bliss happens.

Of course, for me, exactly 5 hours later I wake up, SUPER alert, in a lake of my own sweat. Hopefully that effect is just me.
