Did you read Created in Darkness by Troubled Americans? Great pieces, including "Diary of A New Cobra Recruit."

You should also read, if you haven't already, "On The Implausibility of the Death Star's Trash Compactor."

Hey man!

So, this is pretty random, but would you have 7 hours available today to cruise on down to Toronto and play Twlight Imperium (a big-ass board game, kinda like MOO sorta) with Doug and I and a buddy o' mine? I'm missing my potential 4th player, and 4 would be better than 3.

Meeting new people is fun!

Mmmm, turkey.

Well, being totally last minute, I'm not in the least shocked.

Maybe next time with planning!

Dr. Doom doesn't talk like that. It's like his speech patterns were merged with those of the Hulk.

And Doom never went to a Homecoming either, so what's your point?

The point is that good satire depends on verisimilitude. Why bother using Dr. Doom at all if you're not going to spoof him in a way that reminds readers of the actual Dr. Doom?

That seems pretty obvious to me.

That's your problem, Bucky, you're approaching this as if it were good satire. I mean, anyone with half a brain would've been tipped off in the first place that the concept of Doom in a Homecoming scenario was not going to be "good satire".

That seems pretty obvious to me.
