Geek-gasming Juuuuust a little
Nov. 20th, 2005 11:24 pmGot to see the Dr. Who special thingy from Children in Need. Cute little epilogue to season 1 (or prologue to season 2, whatever).
Attempting to deal, bravely, with fact season 2 won't show in Canada until June. Feh. I Don't Need Hockey! Dammit!
Cynra was doing shuffling in the office today. She found my copy of Dungeon Keeper (significantly more entertaining than Dungeon Siege, lemme tell ya) which I proceeded to install and enjoy. Have slain many elves, dwarves & paladins. Fun, fun, fun. If only I had a good way to get more guys.
And a copy of Zoo Tycoon, also enjoyable. Will install Dinosaur expansion, too. If only I had the seaworld one.
Read some Scarred Lands books tonight. God, I really want to run a SL 3.5 game. I just need to find the Fighter/Barbarian book and the Mage/Sorceror/Bard book at a reasonable price (the LGS is askign something in the thirties for them).
But the sheer amount of stuff I've got for the setting, and the grace it has for absorbing the whole of the core D&D materials into a fun setting, makes me adore it.
I've also been looking through the Player's Guide to the Winderlands, in anticipation of the Guide to the Wilderlands boxed set. It seems like a really, really cool setting, if not for the presence of a Bullfinch Stew (aka a deity setting that includes both manufactured deities and an assortment of real world deities). That just turns me off. The one thing I disliked about the Forgotten Realms.
Any interest in an Iron Heroes playtest?

Yeah, I'm attempting to deal, bravely with the fact that season 1 hasn't even been shown in the US at all yet.
Oh, wait, no I'm not, I've already seen it.

Date: 2005-11-21 04:49 am (UTC)I don't know if I'll be able to "buy in' with the new guy. One of the things I like about the new show is how non-Doctor like Chris Eccleston looked, even though he talked like it.
The new guy looks Doctor-ish. I don't think it works with the vibe of the new show.

Yannno, it's funny. The feds didn't believe me when I used that excuse.

Time will tell.
