Ah yes, Richard Berg's legendary pasta rule.

It should be noted that Campaigns of North Africa ("CfNA") is now wargamer short-hand for 'game with so much needless chrome as to be completely unplayable' or 'the designer was just showing off!'

In fact, the designer, Richard Berg, who is one of the most prolific and popular designers in the tiny little world of wargaming and has been for decades (he's also an infuriating, meglomaniac, but never mind) essentially laughs off comments about CfNA, saying that he set out to design a game intended for obsessive monster gamers who absolutely needed a rule for everything.

Having now been a member of the Consimworld forum for six or seven years (picture rpg.net for wargamers - better grammar, more erudite flamewars and an average age of about 41) I can honestly say that I don't think I've ever heard of anyone who's actually played CfNA.
