If you've taken this quiz, you'll probably have already heard my complaint about it, but if you haven't, or just did, here it goes: I ain't taking ANY action hero test where you can get William Wallace or Maximums (guh?) but no Shaft. Sorry, but John Shaft (one bad motha) had three films, a tv series, and was the leading vanguard of an entire freakin' genre.

Yeah, I ain't gonna buy that.

Yeah, that quiz is hopelessly limited. No Ripley? No Man With No Name? No Jackie Chan characters? It's a pretty sad state of affairs, hopelessly overextended.

The various quizes are, by their nature, lame.

I would like a quiz that gave you a pornographic picture at the end. That would be neat.

I disagree. Many are lame. Just like many tv shows, books, movies, comics, drawings, stories, rpgs, campaigns, livejournals...etc, etc, etc are. That whole Sturgeon's law/maxim/whateveritis.

As for the latter point, nobody's stopping you from making one.

Some are good, yeah. But Sturgeon's law is overly optimistic for the quizzes.

And the only thing keeping me from making one up is a lack of anything resembling motivation. The whole concept seems silly.

Well, yeah, but if you use a little common sense, you can avoid a lot of the bad ones. Like staying away from quiz sites that are TOO easy to make quizzes with... you'll still have to sort through the quizzes you come across, but hey, you almost always can tell a good quiz just by looking at someone's result.

And, of course, you've never done anything silly in your life? You're the epitome of solemnity, right? ;)

It reminds me of Monty Python's "How to Do It", which is to say, the scope is WAY too wide. Favourite action hero? That's like, "favourite person".

Favourite phylum.

It'd need to be a lot more specialized.
