I mean, if the local fans are going to so strongly rise to the occasion (and Shawn didn't start it... the fans were chanting YSB before Shawn ever mic'd up), then go for it. The fans love it, it's what they want. They want to be able to hate Shawn, to yell at him and curse him out, so they gave the fans what they want.
It's like having Lawler wrestle every time they're in Memphis. It's what the fans want.

Date: 2005-08-16 05:57 pm (UTC)Oh, I know Bret and Vince have (more or less) "salved the wounds" from the Montreal Screw Job and all, as they've met multiple times in the past 3-4 years. Every time they do, there's a beaucoup of smarks running around proclaiming Bret's return is imminent.
And I wouldn't be surprised if Bret did appear on WWE TV one day. From my understanding, he's not in the physical condition to wrestle, so if/when he does, it'd be a promo, or a distraction, or something.
But I just cannot see Bret getting into the same personal airspace as Shawn. Bret took things way too personally with Shawn before the Screw Job.
Like say, during the Hogan match at SummerSlam - just as HBK is about to win, I could see Bret's music hitting, and Shawn laughing, thinking someone's pulling a fast one, and then Bret walks out, and stands at the top of the ramp... HBK is in show, and Hogan rolls him up for the 1-2-3.
Something like that, sure. But face-to-face? That would surprise me.
