This is from the last post was about casting a Fantastic Four movie in '65.
Directed by George Pal, with a script by Miles Malleson (based on Fantastic Four Annual #1).
Rod Taylor (or perhaps Micheal Rennie)- Reed Richards
Angie Dickenson - Sue Storm
Ed "Kookie" Byrnes - Johnny Storm
Broderick Crawford - the voice of Ben Grimm
"The Thing" himself would be animated by Ray Harryhausen
The villain of the first picture, after the origin sequence (told in flashback) after the team had successfully defeated the Mole Man's monster as per the cover of their first issue would be
Yul Brynner - Namor, the Sub-Mariner
leading an attack of stop-motion Atlantian crab-tanks into New York as per Annual #1. Its Yul's affection for Angie that saves the day, after Giganto has destroyed most of New York City.
Picture two would feature
Vincent Price - Doctor Doom
So if you found that fascinating (or at least interesting) join and give your love and/or brain sweat.

Date: 2005-08-01 10:21 pm (UTC)Yul Brynner as Namor would've rocked! Harryhausen doing The Thing would've rocked. Price as Doom... prolly too over to the top, but fun. That would've been just as "Not Doom" as the Doom from the new movie.
