But the CBC has a test on Canadian history.Apparently I qualify for an Order of Canada because I paid attention in grade school. Yay.

I got #2 wrong, but shouldn't because of Mr. Gaudet at Holy Cross. He never shut up about that thing. That and I got #10 wrong, boo me.

Very neat. Shame it seems so few people got these basic facts about the country wrong. On the other hand, if those whiners out west have started to forget the NEP, it can only be for the best.

The one I got wrong was #11, about the loonie, and I'm beating myself up about it.

Oh, and my great-uncle Robert received the Order of Canada, mostly for well timed political donations. The critria aren'T as stringent as you may think.

You knew that playing card thing? Man - I've done research on that era and I still didn't get that - I don't think I've ever heard about that - that's cool. It's like another piece in the evolutionary puzzle that is Magic: The Gathering.

("Mais non! Ce lotus noir pour tous les poulets!")

Also I got that 1977 $1US = $1CAD wrong because I remembered an Alpha Flight comic where the original Guardian was complaining about the devaluation of the dollar under Trudeau and I thought it had been published in the late '70s.

I just remebered my parents talking about the DiefenBuck. And I remeber dates for Prime Ministers.

I'm weird, Canada geek. Don't mind me.

But my wrong ones were #2 and #9. Who would think to use playing cards?

Bricklin... Never heard of them.

How many siblings have earned the Order of Canada? Can we be the first Egyptian-Turkish siblings to earn it? And then probably only ones, ever...

Oh, and Puffin' Pete was my geography teacher (not history), and he had a nervous breakdown (or something else, they wouldn't tell us) and was out of the class for two months, so I had none of the benefit of Bricklin/DeLorean discussions. Just the story that we had a teacher that disappeared at the end of October and come back in January.

Still a better teacher than Mr. Kenney. God, I'd like to set him on fire.

Tell us how you really feel.
