It took me a while of reading before I remembered that it would be the Canadian Naval Reserves. I kept going, what the hell is with all these strange base names, and odd terms? It's like the navy from a different country or something. IT IS a navy from a different country. Duh. I am in the naval reserves(US, of course), and have been for 12+ years now. I'm in the Seabees. You know, Construction Battalion. Get it? Seabee. CB. Anyhoo, Do you have a separate boot camp for reserves? Cause at the time I went, we didn't, so I went to navy boot camp for 9 weeks, plus 11 weeks after that for my actual job training. I was gone from home for about 6 months. Boot camp = not fun. The 11 week "A" school = good times.
Usually (at least at the time I was in, which is a while now) training was done at the home unit. The year I was in was the first year they were training reserve agents at a reg force base.
So, yeah, 100% on Boot Camp. I never got to my trades training.
I'm familiar with the SeaBees; I saw Police Academy II, after all.
There's a scene where Mahoney (the gun guy) is dating a fellow officer and goes to meet her family. Her dad used to be a Seabee (he and her brother get into amusing slapstick brawls during dinner).
It might have been III, actually. I can never remember.
