I liked the first ones. And I wasn't even that young when I saw them.
To be honest I don't remember anything about the Clone one except Hayden jumping into Ewan's hovercar. Not sure if it's because the movie was mediocre, or so bad that I blocked it out of my mind.
At least there wasn't a pod race. That's something.
Oh, the originals are good. But it's just a space opera. It's not B5 or Doctor Who or Space: Above and Beyond (just kidding on the last one.)
No, there wasn't a pod race in Clones. Or, if there was, I blocked it out.
C'mon, there was the Yoda/Dooooooooooku fight, that was cool.
And there was the great romantic dia....no, I'm lying.
I found Phantom completely shit. Clones was much better (not saying much, I know), and I enjoyed seeing it.
I thought Sith was the best of the 3 (again, not saying a whole lot.) My take on it was is was very pretty (the visuals were stunning), and it was cool to see the final transformation to Darth V (though I would've prefered to see more of the leading up to...), and there were a few scenes that were actually really good.
I have the ability to walk into something and enjoy it, if I can say to myself, "Enjoy it for what it is." Like with Highlander 2. Most people who went had no idea they took a fantasy movie and turned it into a scifi flick. I had heard about that in advance, so I went in with the attitude, "Accept this as a seperate movie, has nothing to do with the first one, don't try to connect the two" and enjoyed it a little bit.
This is kinda the same way. I walked in, said, "This is just star wars" and enjoyed the visuals, the f/x, the fights, the scene with the younglings, the scenes where the jedis got turned upon, and a few other that were really cool.

Date: 2005-06-04 04:27 pm (UTC)Maybe I could see you saying he owed you $10 for the first one - but if you feel cheated over the 2nd, that's your own fault, IMO.
Fool me once...

Date: 2005-06-05 03:48 am (UTC)It wasn't that bad. Wasn't that good, granted, but then it is just Star Wars, after all.
