After viewing the trailer, I must ask now: Do we need the movie? I mean, sure, there'll be some cool battle scenes, and watching some of the evolution of Darth Vader will be fun, but I just KNOW they'll give Anakin more of that poorly done dialogue, and I don't know if I can handle that.

Ah, fuck it. I'm gonna go opening day. Lukaz pwns m3.

The trailer is very pretty but you should go see another movie instead. (http://hitchhikers.movies.go.com/main.html) It's much more worthy of going out to on opening night. Bring your towel though.

Why must you go on opening night to that Lucas monstrosity anyway?

The way I look at it "In for a penny, in for a pound." I have seen the other five movies. Why skip out on the last part?

Why skip out on the last part?

Because you have a perverse desire to be contrary.

Hrmm...

Don't feel bad. I've had two chances to learn my lesson and am already building stamina to wait in line six hours.

Aw, come off it.

I've been going around all weekend going "some consider to be... unnatural". And I can't wait to see more of Palpatine throwing senate pods at Yoda.

Hurrah for aging British thespians kicking arse! (See Ian Macellen, Patrick Stewart, Christopher Lee, etc for futher details :) )

Here's my Star Wars timeline:

Childhood: Get giddy anytime one of the movies comes on. 10 minutes later, grow bored and go ride my bike. Come back for the light saber bits at the end.

Teen years: Watch trilogy all the way through, say to self, "Huh. That was pretty fun, I guess."

Early twenties: get caught up in manic hype for rereleases, mostly because I'm depressed and want something to hype about.

Mid-twenties: Watch Episode 1 because a friend insists I need to see it and he'll pay my way. Spend entire time bored and wanting to leave, but tell friend, "Yeah, it was kinda cool" 'cause I don't want to hurt his feelings.

A year later: Look back at original trilogy, realize those movies sucked, too.

Two years ago or whenever: Refuse to watch Episode II.

This year: refuse to watch Episode III.

Seriously, people, the character design and models and makeup were fun, and aside from that what have you got? A handful of shitty movies with terrible dialogue, zero characterization and no real reason to watch.

I'm just saying is all...
