Okay, flashback (but only a small one).

Just under a decade ago, on a cold Ottawa night, I convinced my Masquerade narrator to let me screw the Tremere.

Actually, I intended to Screw the entire Primogen, but the Tremere were the only ones who fell for it.

So, James Garvey, ventrue shit disturber, uses CSIS contacts (fuck, man, Masquerade was just wacky, wasn't it?) to get a secure phone system setup between each member of the primogen, a 'bat-phone' if you will, that will prevent any sort of signal interception.

Except by me.

Better, it's actually a monitoring device for listening in. So every bit of info that got passed between them, every in game conversation, every chantry meeting, was sent to me.

It was fun. I kinda rogered them for a few months. Then, of course, the other shoe dropped. I learned the Tremere were gonna fuck over another PC. In an act of stupidity I warned them. The warning leaked back to the Tremere, and they figured it out.

I understand the Regent turned a crimson not seen since MCpl Bruce. Good times.

Anyway, there was bloody revenge instigated by the Tremere and a visiting NPC (purely un-necessary, that NPC). The Regent asked for a meeting, but as I was walking towards the normal sitting place, he said "no, please, let us walk this way."

Which, ladies and gentlemen, is where I learned an important lesson: If someone's normal habits are changed at the last minute, if their behaviour patterns shift in a strange and unusual way, you are about to get fucked. Hard. With very little lubricant.

This story, of course, leads somewhere.

Yes, for the past few days I've been suspicious. Why, you ask? Because someone's (i.e.. Snra Bitter) normal habits changed at the last minute. Someone's behaviour patters shifted in a strange and unusual way. Snra, you see, suggested we go out for dinner at a venue of her choosing. The way of suggestion was an aberration from normal patterns. I was, of course suspicious.

Now, thankfully, instead of a brutal gangland slaying, there was a birthday party, which was very much preferable.

Thanks muchly to all who attended who are reading this (which would include [livejournal.com profile] redeem147, [livejournal.com profile] mr_weasel and [livejournal.com profile] nottheterritory, as well as possibly Penny (best Card Ever), Heather and Charles aka Miiks).

The venue was Hernando's Hideaway on Front, across from former workplace the Flatiron Building.

In the excitement, I made some food ordering errors, getting a plate of Nachos instead of El Sampler Grande and Enchiladas instead of Tamales. But, eh, I ate, I digested, and Snra suffered for her sneakiness. Beans ARE good for your heart!

So, yes. Paranoia pays off.

After dinner, I headed up to 401 Convenience to see if they had a copy of Hamunaptra, but was denied. So I bought Doom: the Boardgame and The Rangers for B5 (I know, I know, bad Justin).

Hey, that was a lot of links, eh?

Everyone got to see the car, too.

Good night, yes. Enjoyed by all, and I'd like to thank the attendees for their generosity of spirit and other stuff.
