Dec. 1st, 2004 07:32 pmLook, Chris and I don't exactly go very far back. He's another member of my Thursday night game.
What I DO know is he's a darn good role-player, and a talented artist. He's got an energy about him that young people do. He's concerned about how he's spending his life, true, but he's doing things about it. And he's spending it a lot better than I was at his age.
And, once again, how can I ever say anything ill about the man who brought Muad'dib the Stick Eater vs Magneto to life? I cannot. And he saved the life of a young girl at a Gwar concert, carrying her unconscious blood-soaked form (it WAS a Gwar concert) out of the mosh pit.
And his hair is cool. That's a quality you don't find in many gamers.
So, smile, kid. You have a very long way to go yet, but you're getting there. And Absinthe is legal in your golden years.
Thankfully,
Why do you have to live out West, man?
I knew the groom when he used to rock and roll. Okay, that's wrong on two counts, because he isn't married, and I don't think he rock n' rolls, precisely. He always struck me as a bit… out there. Like he was watching a show no one else could see. He would make a good Nosferatu, possibly, or any creature with distinct features, and long fingers, who would take to stroking its chin in contemplation. It's not that he's UGLY, mind you. Just observant. I sometimes think he may not get my jokes ('not get' meaning either not understand the humour, or just not find them funny), or perhaps he's just laughing on the inside.
And he's smart. He's got things in his brain. He appears to be developing his own webcam software as a lark, and there's this thing called Athena that... Well, never mind. And he plays the Hero system, so when I get my Dark X-Futures setting up and running (or, really, whatever Champions game I decide to use) I'm gonna ask him to play. And how can you get cooler than playing Champions with me?
