Aug. 25th, 2004 11:41 pmAmusing Anecdote:
I picked up some dry cleaning at the dry cleaners near the old house today. While down there, I picked up a loaf of bread at Food Basics and wandered into the (in)convenience store.
Now, I've never had cause to BUY anything from this place because, well, they sell nothing of worth (you can get it better at the grocery store next door or the comic shop).
I will, on occasion, buy exactly one gummy from them, mostly out of spite.
As I was leaving, the merchant took a moment to let me know he no longer wished me to shop at his establishment.
Of course, I had to let him know that, having moved to another city, it would not be quite the spike in my gum & chip purchasing schedule he'd hoped it would be, and wished him a good day.
People? Strange, strange, strange.

Date: 2004-08-26 03:04 pm (UTC)It just seems odd that he'd react that way. "Oh, it's that GUY who comes in here and only buys a cinnamon lips or just looks in the drink cooler! I HATE that guy!"
Bad customer service.
