The incumbent is Carolyn Parrish, who'll likely get it despite a noted tendency for incivility. I will not be considering the Reform candidate.

The local NDP candidate is 25. Good Lord. How the hell can I be expected to vote for someone who's the same age I was when I was doing regularly stupid things (like, say, joining a Demo Team).

Of course, the Green Partycandidate is 23. I will admit that he at least has a professional background to him, and he lives in the riding (or at least in the city). If there's one thing I can't stand, it's those professional academics. Jesus. Never trust anyone who's never held a really shitty job. If you've never had to wipe dirt, grease, or blood off your hands for the requisite minimum wage, you have no opinions worth listening to.

Hey, reserve background, too. That gives him more military experience than the party leaders. He's down with Proportional, which is always good (and will have hte added benefit of getting Quebec to shut up). Of course, he also supports a EEE senate, which is just not necessary.

The Green Party is coming a long way. They have a candidate in each riding this election and based on what I heard from several of their candidates yesterday they're hoping to be taken more seriously this time around. They are an international party and are leaders in two countries (can't remember which ones off the top of my head).

I voted Green in the provincial election last year. She was the only candidate of the ones in my riding I could have stood representing me.

Well, the ones I've spoken to are considering themselves all part of the same team as the others.

Hiho,

Their platform is definitely different from the US greens, anyway. The Canadian Greens seem to be far further to the right on the spectrum.

Cu,

Definitely -- the most right-wing person in my office is voting for the Green party because he likes their finance platform. *shudder* This is not the Green party I'm used to...
