Hoo'd Win Part Wendy Melvoin on Guitar.
Oct. 12th, 2007 10:28 amAnyway, one of the great pop ditties of our time (for those of us over 30) has been Kiss, performed by Prince & the Revolution and by Tom Jones w/ Art of Noise.
I'd truly hoped to make this a video Hoo'd Win, but apparently that's a bit much to ask. Dammit*.
Anyway, this brings us to one of the great debates of our time, what's better, the cover or the original**? Both are enjoyable pop ditties, but only one can reign supreme! Who will it be, the purple prince of Paisley Park, or the Welsh Sex Machine who made your Mama Scream, so you may want to look into some Paternity Issues?
[Poll #1070173]
Apparently, the woman wearing clothes in the Prince original, Wendy Melvoin, now does scoring for Heroes. Nerd content, folks!
*No, this is not a request for some keener to find videos of the songs online. Youtube came up dry, and I'm at work.
** The paternity of the song is a little more convolute than that, since according to Wikipedia although Prince wrote the song, he didn't release it first***. But we'll count him as the original, to save time.
*** Upon reading for comprehension, he DID release it first. Fuck a chicken!
edit: And why the hell did I get Tom Jones' name wrong?
