About to go mad...
Mar. 25th, 2007 01:07 pmOzzie is walking around the house mewling. I swear, if he were an unfixed female, I'd assume he was just in heat. But being neither female, nor unfixed, he has no excuse.
Enjoyed the shindig last night. The venue was... well, the food was better than the E&C, but the room they gave us was just shit. There were people eating at the pool table. Oh, yeah: and they apparently didn't take Liz seriously when she told them we'd have 25 people, because they only had one chef and one waitress.
The waitress, who was apparently a chemistry student from Ireland, was new to the game; she took orders one table at a time, and food kind of dribbled into the room. I never took any courses in restaurant management, but I think a Saturday night where you have a party of 25 coming in ADDITION to regular walk in requires more than one waitress; ditto for kitchen staff.
Sgt. Bob brought his boys along, and I got to spend the evening discussing some of the finer arcana of the Marvel Universe with them. I swear, arguing with a 10 year old for 15 minutes over whether or not Galactus actually ended up consuming the biosphere of Zenn-La is, I think, the first step to accepting I have a problem.
On the other hand, good sign that the kid enjoys the graphic novels. I endorsed Activision's latest set of computer actioners to them.

Waterloo gaming shop shutting down

As always, a shop shutting down is always a shame. And from the website it appears to have been a nice family run shop, too.

Today and a coincidence

So Cynra & I did burritos and comics today. Pulled well in my HC booster; got Jakeem Thunder (so I'm batting 1.000 in Uniques in Origins boosters) and a V Booster Gold.
Enjoyed the new Spider-Man. In spite of some criticism, specifically "why must Spider-Man be vengeful? Other charactes are vengeful" Yeah, but I don't READ those books. So if Spidey's gonna go angry, I'll read it. He'll get over it, and learn something about himself as a person.
New 52 was good; Black Adam Vs the Island of Misfit Mad Scientists and stuff.
Wisdom #4 continues to be fun. Best Jack the Ripper superhero story evah.
I am enjoying the new Brave & the Bold book. Not reading a lot of books gives you a lot of leeway when you don't know the characters too well (for example, I don't know when the heck the new Supergirl showed up, but apparently, she's 17). Hal Jordan shows more class that I give him credit for, not hitting on Supergirl, although that's likely to avoid having his power lantern knocked off, and by power lantern I mean penis.
Okay, is it just me, or are these both the same movie?
