Weird stuff. Was sufing the FL when I found a link to this discussion of a recent kerfuffle. Apparently, a writer's wife had been in a bar, some guy had been gettin' in her face, and she stuck her elbow in his neck.

Presto! Controversy! [livejournal.com profile] feminist_rage, although not on the actual community.

Really, it's always amusing to watch internet dominoes go tumbling (and somehow it led me to a Lileks piece where he mused over how much he'd miss New York when it got nuked).

I know, I know, the great truth is these are all real people having disagreements, but they're just too far out of my monkeysphere.

Dharma initiative orientation video.

Apparently part of The Lost Experience.

So, I missed the stuff before and after it, and it's all pretty much completely outside of context for me.

But it looks neat.  Cynra & I watched the extras on the Season 2 DVDs.  The COnnections one is interesting, but I can't find my way to Kate & Sayeed, which is frustrating.

Just realized it's been a year since a certain person died.

I'm still feeling very conflicted about the whole situation. Mostly angry, at him. For what he did, for who he was behind his little smiles and steak and kidney pie with curry on the chips and two glasses to start.

We were at best casual acquaintances; been drinking maybe four or five times in toto. But to learn the truth about someone, especially in circumstances like that, especially when the truth is SO FAR from what you know is... It's tough. It's like finding out someone is a smoker when you didn't know they were. Only about a hundred times worse.

I dunno. I may just pass the hat at dinner on Friday for Vicitim Services of Peel.
