There's a wargaming group in TO called Canucks Amuck. Semi regular days to push around pieces.

And I know some of y'all grumble about not getting in enough historical recreation, so why not, eh?

edit: And in a related topic, the Toronto Area Boardgaming Society runs a regular event called CondoCon. I'm strongly contemplating going.

And if I DO go, I will order a pizza for lunch. On the pizza? Lots of sausage.

Ah, guys doing their thing.

Should be fun in any case. Seriously, though, shouldn't they have moved the chairs ot of the way of the photo?

Delightful

A Live rendition of the Simpsons openning.

They don't have it all (I shudder at the logistics of the big pan), but it's quite well done.

Today's Word of the Day, courtesy of Merriam Webster is Fiasco, which is amusing since I just finished watching Overnight, the story of Troy Duffy (no relation to [livejournal.com profile] troy_duffy), the director of Boondock Saints.

BS (what a terribly appropriate acronym) is an amusing little flick that I heard about on the internets (maybe from one of you, maybe from someone else) about two brothers who go medival on the mobs of Boston.

It's equally adored by anarchists, libertarians, Celto-philes and self loathing homosexuals alike. In fact, if you're an anarcho-libertarian self loathing celtophilic homosexual, you'll probably love it. For everyone else, it's too bad for good movie night and too good for bad movie night.

Anyway, it turns out there's a huge epic history behind the making of that flick. Duffy was given a sweetheart deal by Miramax, and apparently unimpressed the folks there, so he got dumped. Apparently the documentary focused more on "this guy's a douche" rather than "and here's how he fucked up", which is a shame, as it left the film kind of disjointed. It semed equal parts drunken revelry and unanswered phone calls.
