Got stuffed to the gills at work (and screwed out of a teddy bear). There was cake, pizza, and cupcakes. And fruit with cream.

Good lord.

Snra & I exchanged hand made cards today; she made hers at school last week as an example for the kids. "It says Let's Bee Friends! And there's a picture of a Bee on it!"

And it does have a picture of a bee on it.

I did a geeky card, ala crayon, in which I noted my adoration for her exceeded that of both Star Wars & Star Trek, even considering the higher quality original versions.

Trust me, it's romantic.

Dinner was appetizers at the Firkin, so that was fun. Half price appetizers on Mondays, you see. Right now she's upstairs, watching a show that's neither Rare nor Well Done (no, not Farscape!).

Actually, it's not THAT bad (Medium), but lord it isn't Wraith.

Much thanks to those who supported the previous post. I would like to take this opportunity to once again endorse my drunken soccer hooligan brother Qusay (aka [livejournal.com profile] umario). He also does engineering and (Canadian!) left wing politics. Go him!

So I polished off Just a Geektoday. Took a break from Fear & Loathing in LV (because it always makes sense to stop reading a library book to read a book you now own).

Enjoyable book. Although much of the material is duplicated from his Blog, it wasn't nearly as irritating as when Scott Keith does it.

In fact, I find that Scott Keith's match recaps really suck, and would like him to stop, as his general commentary on the wrestling industry is much more enjoyable. And I totally don't give a shit about 24. Seriously.

Weaton's book is a good read, and made me cry, particularly when he mentioned how horrible he felt at SDCC in 2001, all alone, and I remembered standing in the autograph area, pointing and laughing, laughing and pointing. It seemed so funny at the time.

If I'd known he was a gamer, I would at least have gone up and offered him the secret handshake and admonished him for choosing GURPS over Hero. Poor, deluded bastard.

In any case, enjoyable read. It gets the Bitter Thumbs Up.
