It's alive! ALIVE!

Well, the machine has been fixed. Or rather, wasn't broken to begin with.

After a short trip in the snow (shocking, after a week of good weather, to get a sudden reminder it is still winter) to mr_weasel and mindrobber's w/ the sacred beast, chip meister Charles cracked it open and asked "what's the problem, eh?"

And, lo, there was none. We backed up a bunch of files, just in case, but it turned out there was nothing amiss. The cable leading from the router to the computer had gone snarky, so I unplugged it and plugged the cable from the modem to the router to the computer.

Problem fixed.

Charles tried Counterstrike, and found it not to his liking. A shame, but not everyone likes everything.

So, all is back to normal. Tomorrow, I will (still) be sick with a working computer. Perhaps I will finish my Apocalypse review! And my Bow, Kiss or Shake Hands piece!

While attending the Everything about England show, Snra picked me up two things: A bottle of HP Curry Sauce (huzzah!) and a Fat Bastard Pull My Finger doll.

I'm quite enthused about the Pull my FInger doll.

She got a Dr. Who DVD signed by Peter Davison, and a neaty little 007 clippy thingy that has a clock, compass, and stopwatch. No lasers, however.
