So, yes. Tonight, I accomplished one of my lifetime goals. I got to see The Frantics perform live.

Okay, so it's not 'getting the Beatles back together (that would require some heavy fuckin' duty Necromancy at this point)', but it was fuckin' hilarious. From the opening, which climaxed with Rick Green waving a transparent pink dildo in the air, through a series of hilarious sketches, including at least a couple I recognized (Bill from Bala! Updated! The Piece of Pie sketch!), I was pissing myself with glee.

The best was the one about the reunited teen mystery solving brigade. Let's Go!

I love those guys. Is Four on the Floor ON tv anywhere these days?

Dreamt last night there was a huge enclosed market space where the local strip mall is. While eating dinner there with Snra. Bitter & the cats, I noticed that Ra Kitten seems to have become listless and unresponsive. So I carried him off to the vet's located within the enclosed marketplace.

I suspect the setting may have bee partially inspired by the Wal-Mart sketch from Jennifer Garner's episode of SNL.

Anyway, on the way there, I notice his pupils are incredibly dilated. There's a lineup at the pet hospital. I am angered. While in line, he recovers completely. I suppose it was something he ate.

Now, after this I attempt to hook back up with Snra. Bitter & Khem cat. Only, Khem bears an UNCANNY resemblance to the local cat queen. So there are mistaken identity shenanigans that involve her wearing a crown & robe.

I blame last night's Buffalo Chicken sandwich. It was tasty, though.

The lit part of yesterday was spent helping Colleen & Family (thankless son excepted, of course. He lives in Ottawa) move to their new digs. Boxes were carried and carted, bookcases were toted, and futons dissasembled.

Very tiring. Came home and bathed before Frantics show.

Got Issue #2 of 1602, and issue #6 of LoEG.

1602 has a bit of a sophomore slump with its second issue. The story is progressing oddly, and it paced somewhat strangely. Some bits seem extraneous ("how I long for a Room from which various Dangers would emerge!" What the fuck do we need THAT for?), but it's good to see the Black Widow in there. I wonder if we'll get Hawkeye or Iron Man anytime soon?

I want Iron Man to be a Golem. Yeeeaaah.

Dr. Doom is doing his thing, and it appears baldy is, indeed, the Vulture. We still have no idea what's up with Virginia (until next issue, of course. Why, oh WHY don't I wait for the trades?).

Issue #1 was very promising, but the second doesn't seem to be keeping pace. You can satisfy the reader with 'new' for a while, but when you stop with the new, the story itself has to entertain.

Got Tokyo Storm Warning #2 as well. Man, this book sucks. I was hoping that the second would be better, but the fights are so badly produced, and took up so much of the book that wasn't "scientifically impossible giant robots keep showing up in Tokyo to fight giant monsters, isn't that VIERD!?" that it's hard to read. I'll skip #3 (which promises THREE TIMES the badly produced robot/monster fight scenes).

LoEG #6 is good. I'll say no more, but the story was well wrapped up. I think a second sequel is pretty much out of the question, at least for this particular league. Good resolution. I was wondering when they'd just get a cold and die.
