Murmurs and a broken vow

Okay, so I hate quizzes.

( but occasionally you find something so sublime, so... delightful that you just can't resist. )

Blame haidee for that.

In our continual quest for simple victuals and quiet relaxation, Snra. Bitter and I absconded to our favourite Pub-chise, The and Firkin (I can't remember the frickin' name, really).

El Snra had her standard (penne n' chicken with a rose sauce), while I jumped onto a limb to try a Bison Burger.

I had Beefalo a few years ago (okay, 11. Shit.), and don't recall too much about it, so I figured I'd try it.

It came with waffle fries (about the standard there), and the burger was cheesed with pickle, red onion n' tomato, which is a good variety if you're not trying to taste the meat, but not if you are trying something 'different'.

I haven't had any sort of 'wild' meat before (I don't know how wild the bison this came from would be, but I'm gonna presume it's at least only a few generations into domestication), which I'm rather ashamed of. I should go out and snag me some deer before I become an American or something.

Anyway, the burger did have an interesting taste, not quite as sweet as normal beef would be; don't know if that's a matter of growth hormones, game-y-ness, or what, but it was different. There was also a slightly bitter aftertaste that I didn't really like.

To worsen the weekend, we ended up being there for the 7 p.m. CFL trivia game. Paint ME fuckin' enthused.

JLA/Avengers continues to delight. But only 4 48 page issues? That will not do. That's the same as 6 32 page issues. Not at all acceptable.
