spoilery, in a vague sense )

And anyone notice that [livejournal.com profile] princeofcairo has "Kenneth Hite" as one of his interests? Is that narcissistic or WHAT?

In unrelated news, please feel free to add "The bitter guide" to your interest list.

Excellent. Caddyshack finally arrived, and Travels on the Healing Road is in too.

I'm up to #4 for The Wee Free Men.

Finished The Long Hot Summoning. Enjoyable, yes. But the B story grabbed me a lot more than the A story. The BnB guests are great (swear to God, the BBall team passed me until "I guess he's Happy"), and the Mummy subplot was cool. The visit to the Egyptian afterlife was cool.

Dude, I can totally see my wife doing some of that stuff.

Finished McSweeney's Mammoth Treasury of Thrilling Tales. Enjoyable (except the Steven King & Harlan Ellison stories, oddly enough). The semi final one (the Albertine notes) was strange, but really picked up at the end.

The problem with the Ellison story, btw, is that he's been telling that story for about a decade now. It didn't gel well, I guess. He needs to finish that Autobiography before time does it for him.

Normally, I love short stories, because even if they suck, you get through them quickly. Finishing MMToTT a few stand out as great, some are good, some are mediocre. Overall, though, it was a good read.

The wife, btw, is upstairs catching up on/watching Farscape.

Tommorow, [livejournal.com profile] eyebeams and [livejournal.com profile] nottheterritory are coming over for commerce, Greek food and gaming.
