Sep. 14th, 2002 10:55 amKaraoke last night with the workmates.
Wife was too tired to go, so I made it out myself. Did a selection of the standards (Wanted Dead or Alive, Stokin', Chocolate Salty Balls, etc).
It was enjoyable. Many of my cow-orkers are terrified of public humiliation, apparently.
It seems that the class of '06 was out in force today. Seriously, I think they should have checked some ID or something.
One of the gurls was so hammered she just stood on stage, swayed slowly, and screamed during her set. Funny, in a sad kind of way.
The KJ's setup was SWEET. Instead of discs, etc, he had it all automated and saved to a hard drive (60 Meg worth; said he had don't know how many thousands of songs on there). It looked like he had a software program that pulled them up, and it may have also kept track of his queues. Man, that would be a sweet piece of technology.
I think the only problem would be with last names; what if you end up with fifteen Daves?
I was kind of concerned when his slips were just slips of paper, but overall worked well. Man. God bless technology. I'm gonna see if he does any other shows in the area.
