Man, that's weird.

WHen you surf from acct to acct via the 'random' button, 99% of the time you end up with, well, losers. It's actually kind of depressing.

THEN, you go onto a random friend and hit their friends list ( if you're curious) and they're all at least interesting, and at least acquainted with the English language.

Something of a refresher for my faith in Humanity.

Oh, yeah: In the next 24 hours I need to have read & reviewed at length (well, 750, which is mid length) Children of the Sun. Wish me luck.

Why I am smart

Okay, aside from dumb things like being up at 4:40.

So, my folks want to get Sra. Bitter a set of our china patter for her birthday.

This is fine. She will like it.

So, they've been asking me how much it is. Asking how much of a check they should send me.

I gently suggest calling our china place and asking them to send us a copy, and paying it by credit card would be greatly preferable. Simple & convenient.

They hesistate. Two months pass.

They contact me by phone. Ask for a rough estimation. I give them the phone number and ask if they could please, please, just try calling that #.

They call back not five minutes later to say it'll be ready for pickup this week.

If everyone would just listen to me FIRST, we'd save ourselves a whole LOTTA trouble.

Have been receiving periodical reports from WorldCon.

Patrick Stewart came to visit, talked about Nemesis and X2 (hmmm... Superhero sequel...).

Lord of the Rings won something or other. She apparently got a lock of hair from Sean Astin, but I still haven't forgiven him for his role in Deterrence.Actually, the writers have got to be slain for the most egregious Deus Ex Machina in human history.

Feh. Anyway, I gotta go hose the stink off me so I can go pick her up.

Anyone have any idea when GenCon UK (heard it may be changed to GenCon Europe) will be held in forthcoming years? Senora Bitter & I are considering going to the Continent for the end of summer 2005, when Worldcon is in Glasgow. So I want to have something for ME to enjoy.
