Weekend went quickly, as normal.

Yesterday, there was some puttering, followed by some excurting. We did a quick run into TO to get a new copy of Smoke and Shadows, the new book by Tanya Huff. Of course, she was there signing (which is why we didn't just buy it from a local bookstore that rhymes with Raptors).

It was good to see her. There was sushi to snack on. She was quite sick, coming off of a cold garnered at a local con.

The book's interesting. I assumed it would be the cop in TO, but it's the vampire's ex boyfriend in Vancouver. Whoops. That's a bit of a goof.

Afterwards, we just headed down to Hamilton for [livejournal.com profile] pyat's daughter's b-day (and his premature B-day celebration). There were many people there. We gave Elizabeth a copy of Ghost Dog, because it's never too early to get kid started on Jarmusch.

We sat around a bit, and I raided the snack table. We watched some Muppets with [livejournal.com profile] nottheterritory and [livejournal.com profile] anidada while the infants dueled with twin katanas.

It was the Mark Hammil episode. And it was not quite as enjoyable as I remembered it being, although the bits where he was Mark Hammil are better than the ones where he's Luke Skywalker. Except for the "Remember Alderaan!" bit. That was cool.

On the way out, I provided constructive criticism on salsa.

We decided we were in the mood for takeaway Indian (of course, there ARE no takeaway indian places in Mississauga, so we ordered to go from Bombay Bhel). I got the Vindaloo, and picked up a couple cans of lager on the way home.

Because lager is the only thing that can kill a Vindaloo.

So we got home and watched Red Dwarf. Specifically, DNA. Because I felt like it.
