FCC to fine Children's Show

thebitterguyLOS ANGELES -- Parents were outraged when a seemingly harmless children's show erupted in profanity. "Smile Time," a popular children's show airs between 5:00 and 5:30 and has been widely touted by teacher's groups as an example of quality edu-tainment. But on Wednesday, February 18, "Polo" a puppet who is better known for teaching children about friendship and self-esteem called another puppet a "bitch."
Parent's groups are outraged. FCC chairman Michael Powell has agreed with the parents and announced that the FCC will be fining the children's show and is considering revoking its status as educational programming.
In a prepared statement, the FCC chairman declared that, "The word 'bitch' is demeaning to both women and dogs and is not acceptable fare for children."
Also the Reverend Jerry Falwell has criticized the addition of a new puppet to the "Smile Time" cast. "The Angel character, with his leather jacket and badboy haircut, awakens feelings that are strange and scary to me," said the Rev. Falwell. "Clearly this new character is meant to entice children into an anti-christian lifestyle.
Falwell also criticized the creator of "Smile Time" Gregor Franken. Mr.Franken is a "hippie type" who has been accused of having dealings with the occult. Unfortunately, this is all typical of members of the media elite unto whom we entrust our children.
