Date: 2003-12-23 08:52 am (UTC)Actually I think '80s Montreal really deserved it's own genre (The Box, MWH, Mitsou, [sort of] Sass Jordan and a few others). Also I think he underrated Rough Trade - they cut a pretty wide swath through the early '80s Canadian scene.
Good call on Martha and the Muffins and Bruce Cockburn though.
