mr_weasel, w/ the honourable nottheterritory, pyat and mindrobber attending. Fun. Party conflict is brewing (yay diametrically opposed alignments!).
I find it not slightly disturbing that 80% of my gaming group is on LJ. How geeky is THAT?
Today, puttered about w/ Snra. Bitter. Picked up a tree from the local florists, which we then hoiseted up and hoped the cats wouldn't eat. To date,they have left @ 99% of the tree undevoured.
Picked up the microwave, which could not be repaired. This angered Snra. Bitter greatly. I think we may need to replace it, which is a shame, as I'm pretty sure the exposure couldn't do THAT much damage to my internal organs.
Did Christmas shopping/shipping for East Coast relations. Even got something for The Most Annoying Niece in the World. Over my strenuous objections. Have cards to ship.
Went to the Z's for dinner & The Two Towers. Some talking head on Definitely Not the Opera was bitching that the option to redo films for DVD makes directors into cogs in a studio machine. Or something like that. I really wasn't paying attention.
His rightness or wrongness, I suppose, depends on you being the kind of person who listens closely enough to the CBC to give a shit about some wanker's opinion on digital technology and director's cuts.
Dinner was pizza. It's very odd having pizza with someone who doesn't eat pork or beef. There were shrimp an onion and mushrooms. No olives, of course, because Snra. Bitter will not abide by them.
Feh. You know what I'd get on a pizza? Green peppers, olives, pepperoni & bacon. And enough cheese to not be ashamed of it. And a fucking dough bubble in the middle, instead of a stupid little plastic table thingy.
The film? Long. Better, I thought. For example, Aragorn's 87. Could have sworn no one ever put THAT little tidbit across before. The Trees: Still cool. Merry & Pippin smoke up and eat in. Faramir now has more than 8 seconds of screen time, and background given on him & Boromir.
All in all? Enjoyable.
AVWC tommorow. Not making SL game because of exhausting/family responsibility. Feh.
