So, yeah, since I got my SuperHero vibe restarted after flipping through SAS, I've been ruminating on my favouite Supers subgenre, the Super-Agent.

AEGIS, btw, is what I"m considering calling the Super Agency. It may be an acronym for something, maybe in English, maybe en Francais.

One thing I've always liked about SHIELD (which IS the Super-Agent genre, Checkmate notwithstanding) was Nick Fury's nigh-immortality. Not his PC level ability to evade death, but the fact he's in his 80s now, and still going strong.

Basically, I had an idea for putting that into the head guy without the lame "infinity formula (aka Super Soldier Serum lite)" idea.

Basically, it would take the Shrieking COmmandos (okay, that would be too much) into Hitler's Aerie during the war, where NIck Angry would find himself on the receiving end of a poke from 'ol Longinus' spear.

Now, instead of dying from it, he gets a vision from God, and is gifted with grace and puissance. So you'll have an 80 year old guy who you wouldn't put past his mid thirties who runs an international espionage agency and is literally on a mission from God.

I like it (except for the possibility of a French acronym). It's a very cool set-up for a supers campaign and a nice way to explain the Fury analog's cool powers.

You'd have to make Dum-Dum a hard-drinking Anglican curate, but the bad girls in spy fic are always Catholics.
