Well, we're going to see Watchmen tonight, which he's in (even though his role has been abridged) and tomorrow we're planning to see him in Pontypool at the Bloor, in which he's the lead.
It's playing there starting today. You can't call the theatre, just the automated thingie which is no help.
I can only find info that it's at the 7:20 show on one website. I'd hate to book tickets and find out that's the wrong time, since it's not the last showing.
Another site says there's two q&as tomorrow night, but seems to think it's at the Bloor. It's definitely playing at the Varsity.
Cold Squad was awesomesauce. They got a little 90210 with Niko's damsel in distress complex for awhile, but McCormick is just the best portrayal of a female cop that has ever been on TV, ever. Evvvveeeerrr. Cutting herself out of a wrecked car? Yeah. <3
Also: Is the Watchmen worth seeing? This is one of those cases where it's better for me if I don't go see it if it will ruin my vision of the canon.
Watchmenn does a very interesting job transitioning the book to the screen. It's visually various degrees of faithful. Narratively, it misses a lot of things and changes a lot of things, and I don't think it's to the benefit of the story.
I don't think it'll affect your ability to enjoy the original work, and it'll probably be a topic of conversation for a while to come.
Cool! My first encounter, if you will, with Mr McHattie was when he appeared in a televised rendition of James A Michener's Centennial which aired some thirty some odd years ago (crap that makes me feel so old). I think it was one of the first miniseries to air and I found it enthralling. The cast included the likes of Richard Chamberlain, (I did say miniseries) Robert Conrad, Mark Harmon, Andy Griffith, Raymond Burr, Dennis Weaver, Lynn Redgrave, Sharon Gless, Stephanie Zimbalist and yes I'm typing the names as they're listed on the DVD cover. I treated myself to it for my birthday last year but haven't got around to watching it to see how its stood up over time. Steven McHattie played one of the Indians, and I thought he was smoking hot back then. For me, he stole every scene he was in. Nice to see he's still very gainfully employed. :)
