The LJ friends list is barred at work (although looking at individual LJs is possible). I'm also verboten from looking at my iPhone at work. I mostly follow that.

So, yeah, I don't get to keep up with everyone here as well as I'd like. I catch glimpses and occasional tweets, but it's making me feel distanced from everyone.

And I do adore each and every one of you.

In less maudlin news, I'm trying the fitness classes at work. I've been doing the kickboxing class for a few weeks, and yesterday I tried the Boot Camp class.

It doesn't remind me much of actual boot camp, but that is only a good thing.

But now, the next day is turning out to not be fun. My calves (calfs?) are so very, very sore.

Seriously, going down stairs is actually very, very painful. Going up, not so much.

LJ is about the only thing I do have access to from work - all web-mail, Facebook, etc. is blocked at our firewalls, and I don't feel like hacking the wi-fi in the next office over (it apparently looks bad).

I don't know if it's technically ironic or not, but LJ itself is open. The only thing blocked is friends lists.

The other option might be to use a proxy server... Basically, you bounce the request off the proxy using HTTPS, so their sniffers can't see where you're really going. Of course, if they're smart enough to be blocking percent encoding then they may also be smart enough to block proxies.

Check out http://www.dmoz.org/Computers/Internet/Proxying_and_Filtering/Hosted_Proxy_Services/Free/Proxy_Lists/ if you can get to it, it should be a list of proxy servers. (My work blocks access to the list, ironically)

The Unicode might still work, but you'd need to craft the URL for that. I'm a bit rusty with that sort of thing, but if I come up with anything I'll let you know.

Hmm... I wonder if you could set up a separate webpage as an RSS feed from your Friends page, and host it on Geocities or something?

Wow. Nice to work at a place where they're not idiots. On account of, we use our various phones - i or otherwise - for necessary communication purposes and wow, Citi can't be supplanted in the Bitter Life fast enough.
