Well, Lobstercon's over for another year. For the uninitiated, it's a dinner party a friend puts together each year at a restaurant because, hey, no dishes.

It seems like we're fluctuating in attendees. Along with Cynra & I, [livejournal.com profile] redeem147, [livejournal.com profile] hazyone101 and [livejournal.com profile] kaijugal were there, along with a baker's dozen of the non-LJ enabled. But a few faces were absent. It was really good to see everyone who was there.

Our trip was a bit slow due to weather and traffic. We took a moment to watch last week's Leverage (Trek Reunion!) and play some Rock Band before we headed out. We could possibly have skipped the last couple Rush songs.

Mandarin's buffet is a sprawling combination of pan Asian food and pizza and roast. The Sun's readers voted it best Chinese food in Toronto, which I think says more about the Sun's readers than the food at Mandarin.

I always get gutshot with regret at the end of the evening when I go there. I can't help but wonder what will happen to the remains.

It was a good evening, in any case. I managed to restrain my baser instincts and not gorge myself utterly on the buffet. A good sign, I think. I did need a cup of tea when we got home.

Today has been consumed with a great deal of Schoolhouse Rock.

I went there with a few special needs people for the first time a few weeks ago.

It was ........ interesting. Considering how expensive it was, I was sorely disappointed. I think I could count the number of actualy chinese dishes on one hand. After having cut a few fingers off. I only ate watermelon, some rice and cucumbers & cottage cheese. The rest looked god-awful.

I love schoolhouse rock.

By "the remains," do you mean the leftovers?

I think they just repackage it for the morning. :)

Alternately, they could at least wrap up the stuff that was still good, and use it to supply a soup kitchen or shelter. It could even represent a tax write off!
