Tell me! Fanboys? Anyone see it?

Just out of curiosity, did anyone get to see Fanboys? I've been a little intrigued by the film since I heard about it, and the whole net-battle over the final edit was kind of interesting. But now that it's out, it's apparently not showing in this time zone*. Did anyone get to see it?


*Hyperbole. Easy, folks.

I saw it. I loved it. It was a movie especially made for me and my kind.

I could, if I wanted to, which I don't, because the reviews were awful. When you cut out the entire "best friend has cancer" thing and it makes no difference, that's a bad sign.

I thought that the big deal was that they put the cancer back in for it's release.

The big deal for me is they seem to have forgotten to put it into theatres.

I'm wondering how much of a part Kristin Bell ended up with after the edit... it sounded for a while like she was being cut out :)

I did see a poster for it a few months back at the Scotiabank theater... weird that they'd do the advertising and then not have it here.

It's not the first time they'll have advertised a film they don't bother to show. I just wanted to SEE the darn thing.

I do suspect it'll hit DVD rather quickly. I was surprised that it didn't end up in the straight to DVD pile after all of the drama getting it finished.

I've been interested in the movie since seeing the trailer on the Clerks 2 DVD. I was quite surprised to see Ebert had a review and I hadn't heard anything about release. A little digging and I noted limited release, which I translated as "Fuck you, flyover states."

I could care less about the cancer yes/no stuff; I want to see a goofy adventure movie with Star Wars references, like I was promised two years ago.

A RomCom/Road Movie about Star Wars nerds is kind of what I wanted to see. I think it makes a better story if they're huge nerds doing it for a selfless reason (friend's cancer) instead of just because they're huge nerds.
