I was googling "Ultimate Throwdown" when I stumbled upon this post from someone's wedding blog.

Wedding Party vs. Trekkies - The Ultimate Throwdown

Yes folks, it's true, our wedding is taking place on the very same weekend as the Star Trek convention. Well, I refuse to be upstaged by a bunch of pseudo-Clingons and Mr. Spocks alike.

Well, there's no followup to Will & Marla's wedding, but I hope they're happy.

I've never been at a con that had a wedding in the hotel the same weekend. I can only imagine the impact on the function space.

Anthrocon 2006 was held the same weekend, and in the same hotel, as the wedding of the daughter of a pharmaceutical giant CEO.

It was mostly amusing. :)

I like how they wont be upstaged by "pseudo-Clingons"... as opposed to a "real" Klingon.

lol

Now there is a great movie plot there.

Have a wedding and trek convention in the same hotel, and chaos ensues. Bridesmaids are publicly sticking their nose in the air at losers in Trek uniforms and one of them secretly falls for a geek.

The bride is torn because someone in a Klingon Tribute Band turns out to be her highschool flame who never got over her and challenges her commitment to her recently tied man.

I should be writing movies.

I've been to hotels with both. Usually the wedding party seems amused.
