Saucer of milk to table two!
Dec. 21st, 2008 08:04 pmOkay, so, since I've joined Facebook, I've been a member of this group about an oncoming wrestling documentary entitled Bloodstained Memoirs.
Every so often I've gotten updates about this superstar and that superstar coming on board, blah blah blah. Last I heard, it was going into editing, which is good, since it's been in production for a really long time. I mean, how long does it take for a documentary to be finished?
So, today I get in my inbox an email saying there's an update on Bret Hart appearing in the documentary. Well, I say, that should be interesting.
After following the links to the MySpace page of the producer (is that a good sign?) I find a poorly constructed, barely edited 5000 word rant about how they did not get the interview they thought they were going to get.
Now, a good rant can be an enjoyable thing. The sheer amount of vitriol in this one, though, was more than a little disappointing. A professional thing to do might have been to end it after the first nine words: "Bret Hart will not be appearing in Bloodstained Memoirs".
But the sheer amount of malice and unprofessionalism in this thing was... wow.
To write it at all is bad. To descend to name-calling and impugning the character of the people who he disagrees with? Worse.
Petty, and sad.

Of course, if what he said was true, I can understand his displeasure.

Date: 2008-12-22 02:25 am (UTC)Sounds like Bret did as any professional would in the same situation. "I have to check with my manager" and when he came back with "She says no" are you going to be surprised that he doesn't do the interview?
What is the point in having a Manager if you dont let them handle these details. She may have failed in doing so, but for this guy to unload on Hart was uncalled for.
I feel his frustration but he gets playground dirty over the whole thing blaming the wrong party.

Date: 2008-12-22 02:58 am (UTC)I am surprised that the people on the facebook group for this film are all backing Sinnott's misguided rant. I understand the guy is upset over the arrangements falling through, but that is no reason to personally attack Hart over it.
Furthermore, the management is doing the right thing and attempting to arrange another interview with him and he is telling them to shove it.
Press Release?
Date: 2008-12-22 08:42 pm (UTC)1. You never approach a "personality" for an interview unless you've got explicit permission from their manager... if you do then expect to be told "see my manager".
2. Calling someone a liar, cheat, cunt, whore whatever in an open forum will not get them motivated to allow you to speak to their client.
3. I wonder if this freak is smart enough to have the people he interviewed, or plans to interview, under contract so they can't pull out after reading his reaction to something which, actually, happens pretty frequently.
