I've said it before and I'll say it again - the thing that's so remarkable now is that you're basically just watching a Bob Newhart style comic monologue from one guy with very simple props. I remember the helicopter and the banner and the turkeys from when I was a kid - but of course none of that actually appeared - the whole bit is nothing but Richard Sanders' storytelling and reactions that sold the whole thing. Now that, my friends, is comic genius!
