Well, maybe it wasn't really an issue to most Canadians.
Fewer people voted, a sign that maybe we're just growing tired of elections every year-and-a-half, or maybe there weren't any issues that really grabbed the electorate.

While I mostly agree with that, I think the fact that they won more seats, making the minority smaller (or needing less help to achieve that majority) does present a "We won!" to some extent, whereas had they lost seats (or remained the same) and still retained a minority government, THAT certainly would have been a "We didn't lose!"
