njpax was Nancy Kippax, an old school Trek fan whose lj was dedicated to reminiscing about her time in fandom. She passed away recently, but the LJ is still there for the reading.

The journals of the departed are powerful and haunting.

I still haven't quite adjusted to losing Deniz - denizsarikaya, and her LJ's still there but it's crushing to know that it hasn't been updated for three-years-and-then-some.

With Nancy's journal, there's some amazing stuff there, and it's good to know that she had a chance to say goodbye to her family.

I was back browing my LJ and I came upon this post. I think there is some way to mark the LJ of a deceased person as a memorial; I saw it recently on a friend of pyat's who had passed away.
