And time to say it in.

In brief, then.

Last night game: Good. D&D goes well, but I've noticed that we get a lot more distracted playing D&D than when we play, say, Mutant City Blues or Heroquest.

Dinner last night: Good. The Shwarma was delicious, the rice was excellent, the sauce on the veggies was not too watery, and the tabouleh was delicious. All good!

Invincible Iron Man: Good. I like two things in this book: MODOG (Mental Organism Designed Only for Genocide) and the fact that Fraction actually creates a superteam for the Phillipines.

Of course, he creates them so he can blow them up, but that's better than the way Alpha Flight's been treated lately.

Gym: I'm on my way!

Tell me, I beg you, tell me that MODOG is a dog.

God that's disappointing.

With an acronym like MODOG...

...what else to expect?

I'm rather sorry that Triumph Division ended up red-shirted like that.

(I wonder what their names would be in Tagalog?)

See, that's funny. I find that play in our groups gets more focussed with the heavy tactical systems like D&D (or HERO), and much less focussed with the rules light, faff-about-with-story systems, because it encourages some players in our group to constant digress and rabbit-hole. With crunchy games, people are more often making game-mechanical tactical decisions, and so there's less time for socializing, it seems.

Do you think it has something to do with Robin's preferences/strong-points as a GM? I mean, I know Robin is very, very good at what he does, but even the masters have their preferences... 8)

Ah, so! Based on Robin's post about minis, things become clear now. So, how's WoW with paper 'n pencils 'n dice?
