No AFD funniness from me today. Too contrived, you know?

Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] lab_brat for her summary of some of the day’s celebrations. I did enjoy [livejournal.com profile] ljstaff’s one, though.

I could complain about how my favourite Facebook app has crapped out (My Heroes Ability, if you’re interested) just as I was getting within spitting distance of getting Teleportation, but that would be boring.

Wrestlemania was enjoyable ([livejournal.com profile] noizangel, we had vegetarian snacks! Where were you?), other than the Kane match. The Lumberjill match and the Big Show/Mayweather match were not as horrible as they could be, and isn’t that what [livejournal.com profile] luciancarter paid $50 for?

Other question that some of you should be able to answer: Did Toronto host a Kotei this year? Or has all L5R activity in Ontario moved to Thunder Bay?

April Fools! Mayweather/Big Show was great, for what it was.

I thought all the L5R activity was in Mississauga.

L5R in Toronto is dead as dirt. This year's Kotei was in Thunder Bay. Why?

I should point out that I had really low expectations for the match going in, based on the inconsistent buildup and the general problems with non-wrestlers wrestling, but I was very happily surprised. Perhaps it did end a bit abruptly, but I think it worked well. I need to re-watch the 3-way match [I zoned out during it...] but I'd call Show/Mayweather the second best thing on the show, behind Flair/Michaels.

At our viewing party, the other old-school fan in the room and I knew we were watching something special when Flair busted out the old vertical suplex and actually held it for a little bit. The fact that Flair is done still hasn't sunk in for me, even after the wonderful farewell he got last night at Raw.
