Okay, so, I was reading a recent Esquire with an interview with Johny Depp. I'll admit, I've not paid much attention to him since his 21 Jump St days. Okay, I didn't really pay much attention to him then, other than a Dennis Miller Weekend Update bit about him and Greico.

Greico! Depp! Depp! Greico! Greico and Depp! Depp AND Greico!

Anyway, I have seen a lot of movies with him in the intervening decade and a bit. Haven't seen his singing one yet. His pirate movie was okay.

Anyway, something came to my attention. Two of Depp's mentor/role models are Marlon Brando, and Hunter S. Thompson.

Sweet God. We're lucky he hasn't broken up and begun to burn up in the atmosphere.

Legend has it that, after Depp was cast in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", he showed up at Hunter S. Thompson's door with a bottle of absinthe in hand, and the resulting 'discussion' was how he figured out what his character should be.
